it aint food if it aint fried

King of the Coop® started from humble beginnings. Joe Dodd and his wife and kids moved to Tampa, Florida at the beginning of 2016 from Ft Myers. While in Ft Myers Joe trained under some of the areas best chefs honing his skills cooking and managing restaurants. Once the move to Tampa was made Joe and a friend opened a food truck called Taste Buddz. After a year of operating Taste Buddz Joe changed the concept to Soul Food Street Kitchen to highlight his love for Southern Cooking. Joe and Soul Food Street Kitchen found a temporary home inside of the Heights Public Market inside of Armature Works. While in Armature Works Joe highlighted his Nashville Hot Chicken and Catfish which won over the tastes of many people. Right place right time had Joe and his wife signing a lease for what is now their first location of King of the Coop® in Seminole Heights. As the story continues to grow so does the business. Joe and his team are in the process of building out the second location in Wesley Chapel, Florida as well as opening a food truck for events and caterings.
